How to hold a Silent Auction

I have a love/hate relationship with Silent Auctions.  They are a great way to make a lot of money for your school, but they take an enormous amount of work and many volunteers.    They can be fun to attend (especially if you don’t have to work them) and you can often buy things that just aren’t available to the general public. 

I will be adding more advice about how to hold a Silent Auction over the next week or two and would love to hear about any of your experiences.

Middle school raffle

My daughter told her friends that they needed to sell a lot of raffle tickets so that “my mom doesn’t feel like a loser”.   It is true that I fret over the amount of money we make.  I always want to make a lot of money for the effort we put in.
