Bake Sales and Beyond

An easy way to raise money and help the environment is through a cell phone and ink cartridge recycling program.  The FundingFactory Recycling Program will send you a free starter kit with promotional materials and advice on how to get the word out to your community.  They will pay for shipping of the phones and cartridges and either pay your organization either cash or points redeemable for rewards from their catalog.

All this fundraiser requires is a collection box in a central location at your school and one person in charge of packing up the recyclables and sending them in. Have people collect at their offices to maximize results, maybe even get the businesses and neighbors in the local community involved. There is a “green” incentive to this too because you are not supposed to throw cell phones in the trash. (It’s considered hazardous waste).
