Campbells Labels for education
I don’t like this one as much as Box Tops for Education, but your school should sign up for it anyway. It is a little more work, plus you don’t get money, you can trade the labels for educational items from their catalog. They have some very useful items in the catalog but please tell me why anyone would spend 100 labels to acquire a Campbells labels for education collection bin? They ought to give those away for free just for the advertising! Can’t you just use a cardboard box with a hole cut in the top? But then again that collection bin is the cheapest thing in the catalog. You might as well save them up and if you can reach 400 points you can get a rubber chicken, or for 13,050 you can get a “blow mold” folding table.
But is it worth it to do this fundraiser? Yes, IF you have an abundance of volunteers. This program has submission requirements that make it very time consuming for volunteers. Each type of label has to be handled in a certain way and must be submitted in a way that makes it easy for them to recycle. No staples or tape! For example, bottle caps have to be bundled groups of 100 and 1 point caps or labels and 5 point caps must be kept separate. The will not accept labels that they deem filthy or damaged. You must group them specifically, and wrap them up in a corrugated cardboard box to ship them in. Just reading the submission requirements kind of gives me a headache. But hey, if you are really good at collecting these you can even purchase a Van for your school if you can save up 1,600,000 labels. That’s a lot of soup!
